Detailed Pricing Breakdown
Transparency is a core part of our business. Below is a clear breakdown as well as a payment schedule of the costs you can expect to see in your Buy & Ship invoice and when each one of them is due.
Cost of Items - This is the total cost of the items you want to purchase. It is paid directly to the seller of the items you wish to purchase.
Total Service Cost - This is a fee paid to Savo Store for handling and facilitating this service. It is charged at 10% of the Cost of Item(s). This fee also covers any U.S. sales taxes charged by the seller, as well as shipment protection against loss or damage for your order while on transit from our US office to our Nairobi office.
Total Shipping Cost - This is the total transportation cost of your order from our US office to our Nairobi office. For a breakdown of our air and ocean shipping costs, click here. Your initial invoice will include our minimum shipping charge ($15 for air and $90 for ocean). Once your order arrives at our US warehouse, we will measure its weight and dimensions, to determine the final shipping charges.
US local shipping - While most online sellers offer free shipping, some sellers charge shipping fees to ship items within the U.S. If the seller charges a fee to ship to our U.S. address, this fee will be added to your invoice when we purchase your order.
Door Delivery Cost - This is the cost of delivering your order from our Nairobi office to your doorstep. You can either pick up your order from our Nairobi office, or you can request us to deliver it to you wherever you are in Kenya. Click here for details of the delivery charges.
VAT (16%) - VAT is calculated as a percentage of the Total Service Cost + Total Shipping Cost charged by Savo Store.
Payment Schedule:
Buy & Ship orders are paid for in two separate payments. The first payment is due when you place your order. The second payment (if any) is due when your order is dispatched from our US warehouse.
1st Payment: When you place an order with us, you’ll be required to pay for the Cost of Items, the Total Service Cost, and our minimum shipping charge ($15 for air and $90 for ocean). VAT at 16% of both the total service cost and the shipping charge will also be included in the first payment due.
2nd Payment: Once your order is dispatched from our U.S. warehouse, if its shipping cost exceeds our minimum shipping charges, you’ll be billed for the remaining shipping charges plus 16% VAT. For a breakdown of our air and ocean shipping costs, click here.
